Shipping Receiving Associate

General Description:  Under general supervision, the Shipping Clerk provides support to the overall operations in shipping/receiving and will be responsible for the efficient processing of incoming/outgoing shipments, inventory tracking and supporting EngineQuest’s commitment to exceed customer expectations.

The Shipping Clerk is responsible for ensuring that incoming inventory is cataloged and efficiently available to facilitate the use in order preparedness.  Responsible for meeting supply chain objectives, managing inventory and filling systems to effect timely and accurate outgoing shipments.

This is a non-exempt position, reporting to the General Manager.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Receives outbound order requests.
  • Pulls and packages orders for UPS/FEDEX and truck shipments.
  • Scans part number location and processes the order when it is complete.
  • Operates online UPS/FEDEX shipping system.
  • Receives inbound bulk shipments, reviews products to ensure items match purchase order. Processes purchase order.
  • Inventories and reports monthly shipping supplies.  Ensures all documentation related to inventory flows is complete, accurate and filed correctly.
  • Builds bulk product into kits.
  • Conducts inventory cycle counts. 
  • Identifies, analyzes and addresses gaps in inventory process and reports to management. 

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Able to follow and make decisions in accordance with established procedures.
  • Able to interpret and follow variety of instructions furnished in written or oral form.
  • Maintain positive, professional demeanor at all times.
  • Perform and understand basic math skills.  Able to use a calculator and solve basic math equations.
  • Able to work effectively in a cross-functional dynamic team environment.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.  Asks for assistance and/or guidance when needed.

  • Dependable, motivated to provide timely and quality service.

Technical Requirements:

  • Able to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and simple instructions.
  • Able to use hand-held measuring devices and tools
  • Experience using warehouse computer applications.
  • Automotive-repair mechanical aptitude, preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand/sit for prolonged periods of time.
  • Work may involve, crouching, stooping, light-lifting (up 50 lbs).
  • Regularly required to move around the facility.
  • Regularly required to use hands to fingers, handle, or operate objects, tools, or controls and reach with hand and arms.
  • Occasionally ascends/descends a ladder in the process of inventory management.
  • Regularly required to communicate effectively with internal/external employees and clients.
  • Must be able to detect, determine, perceive, identify, recognize, inspect, estimate and assess inventory items, automotive parts and any other items associated in job responsibility.  

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in automotive repair environment.
  • Related experience in warehouse, shipping/receiving.

Education:

  • High school or equivalent required.
